List of Documents required for Business Visa to Qatar

These are the different types of Qatar business visa. The following documents must be submitted for the same.

  • Passport valid for six months from the date of arrival in Qatar
  • Financial proof ( bank statement, for example)
  • Documents verifying your purpose of visit
  • A company letter
  • 2 coloured passport size photographs.
  • 2 copies of the first passport pages (photo and your name must be present in both
    copies) along with the original.
  • A letter of invitation from the sponsor with details regarding the relationship to the applicant. In addition, the letter must indicate details of stay (place and length) along with contact information
  • The Consulate of Qatar requires an official business letter to support your application.
  • Proof of Travel Arrangements along with the itinerary is required
  • Proof of sufficient funds in the form of a commercial bank statement showing the business activity is required. Military contractors can supply a letter of financial guarantee from their employer.

Types of Qatar Business Visa

The Qatar Business Visa does not permit you to live and settle down in Qatar Permanently. VIsiting Qatar on a business visa on a temporary business visa is, however possible. There are three types of Business Visa in Qatar

Business Visa: Visa obtained for contract work. The validity is 3 months. The worker signs a contract that enables him to stay in Qatar on a short-term basis. The visa is arranged by the employer. The employer operates a legally approved company in Qatar.
72-Hour Business Visa: This visa is issued upon arrival. It can be extended up to 72 hours. This business visa is preferable for short visits, usually for meeting potential clients or participating in a business event such as a convention.
Investor Visa: Included in the category of Business Visa, this is for those who wish to invest in Qatar. The option is viable only for selected ventures.

Visa Validity:

Visas for Qatar generally allow a stay of up to 1 month and are most commonly issued for a single entry, valid for 1 month or multiple entries valid for 6 months. Visa validity depends on the supporting documents and is at the discretion of the Visa Officer.

Visa Processing Time:

Qatar visas are usually processed in 6 to 8 business days. Rush or Emergency visa service may be available for additional fees.

On obtaining a business visa, passport holders of specific countries will be granted direct entry visa, without the need for the previous permits at the borders of the state. A company or a recognized establishment can apply to the Immigration Department. The permit has 2-week validity and can be renewed for another 2 weeks.

Businesspeople from countries such as the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece , Finland, Spain, Monaco, the Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Lichtenstein, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea are eligible for the visa.

However, the visa will be subject to the laws relating to entry and residency of foreigners. It is also dependant on the current rules for the residents of GCC countries.
